I was always active as a kid — I loved riding my bike, playing baseball and played basketball through high school. Through my life experience, I found the love for biking and joined a cycling team, Team Brewery Ommegang, that I remain active in today.

Cycling Coach

  • I was always active as a kid — I loved riding my bike, playing baseball and played basketball through high school. After school I found myself too busy for sports, and over time I gained weight and lacked energy. Thirteen years ago I knew the time had come to take action to become healthy and active again. I bought a bike and started going out on trail rides with friends. Every week I looked forward to those rides and the weight started coming off. Over the course of a year I lost 50 pounds and fell in love with cycling.

My son caught the cycling bug as well and motivated me to get NICA certified to assistant coach his high school mountain biking team. I enjoyed working with the kids and seeing my son progress as a cyclist. I also joined a cycling team, Team Brewery Ommegang, that I remain active in today. Over the last year several friends were training for their first tri and asked for my help with the cycling component. I truly enjoyed the process of helping others learn about cycling, how to choose a bike and how to maintain their bike. It inspired me to work towards my cycling coaching certification.

The last thirteen years have been filled with countless cycling miles, hundreds of races over the northeast and at least sixteen bike purchases! I am super excited to start my next cycling chapter as part of the Empire State Endurance team and look forward to helping others that want to learn how to become a cyclist from the ground up.
